Blonde hair is actually way better than brown!!! Try something that washes becuse there is a really big chance that you wouldnt like it!! Put it for a few days if you dont like it then put brown highlights like me
well dont go from blonde right to brown
do a dirty blonde and gradually get darker
something that washes off, because there is a good chance you'll hate it! look for semi-permanent stuff. good luck

I buy it from a local independent shop, but you can find it nationwide at Hot Topic (but in my experience they charge a couple of bucks more.)
P.S. With a little research it's definitely possible to get amazing color by yourself or with the help of a friend (to make sure you don't miss any spots in the back) You don't necessarily need to go to a stylist.

Im gonna star this question as it will also be of use to me as im looking at using a chocolate brown soon. I have been looking around and of that i can see Herbal Essenses sounds a very effective colour, altough i cant find any that actually say CHOCOLATE BROWN. L'oreal is not as reccomended as H.E, Garnier is a good colour. Either Herbal Essenses or Garnier would probably be best as they suit most peoples hair and most the time do what they state on the box. Heres a review i have got on Garnier Belle colour, who thought the product was 'amazing'

How often have you coloured your own hair only to find the result is embarrassing?
I was fed up of my own natural colour but tired of looking washed out. I wanted to lighten it slightly without going some hideous orange colour. I was at the point of giving up and looking washed out forever.
Then I found Belle Colour. The colour change is the closest I have found to the stated colour on the packet. No more orange, I don鈥檛 look like I鈥檝e just been Tangoed anymore, just the light to mid brown with a golden hue.
For a natural look you can鈥檛 beat Belle Colour, the way it colours leaves my hair looking so natural. It鈥檚 not a solid block of colour that looks so unnatural; there鈥檚 a depth to the colour and different hues and tones, just as you find with your natural hair colouring.
Belle colour leaves the hair feeling soft, silky and well conditioned, looking shiny and glossy, using good shampoos and conditioners maintains the radiance.
Because it is just the 2 or 3 shades lighter than my natural colour but the same sort of tones I am able to leave it slightly longer before needing to re-colour. This also promotes a healthier looking head of hair.
It鈥檚 available at most chemists and supermarkets. I look out for who has it on offer and buy it then I normally pay about 拢3.80 to 拢4.50.
I won鈥檛 be Tangoed ever again.

erm.....if you wanna choc brown then the best thing 2 do is, well get wots closest 2 a choc brown! DUH!
You should never use over the counter haircolor. The chemicals in that box color are way different for each company. Plus, as your hair grows out, and you have new growth, how are you going to match it with the rest of the color? It is very difficult to retouch your own hair, and if you put it on all the hair again, you will eventually fry your hair. Just spend the few dollars and go to a salon.
If it is money you are wanting to conserve, go to a local cosmetology school. The prices are going to be about 1/2 of what you would pay at a salon, and they probably use the same color line as the local salon.

I have never colored my hair before but I am starting to get some gray hairs and I would like to know what the best brand of color is that won't dry your hair out real bad. I have hazel eyes and pale skin to, I dyed my hair almost every color under the sun. here's what i think:
1. Blonde turned out horrible on me, if you want to do blonde go for ash blonde it's less intense than platinum and might show off your eyes
2. Chocolate brown was really nice and oddly made my eyes look green, you might have the same result but if your hair is already brown it might not be fun to dye it the same color
3. red (as in orange red) was nice but I noticed that the hair looked like a cheep hair dye (even though it cost a fortune)
4. hot Pink or dark pink are really nice there different and though they don't bring attention to your eyes, they have a look that is quite unique
5. a dark purple is a nice color and it framed my face nicely, it also brought out my eyes for some reason
6. the best i think was black it was a contrast to my skin, and my eyes looked more green than hazel.
I dyed it about 18 times and the rest of the colors are not as interesting though If you want it unique Black with a blonde stripe worked wonders.
Darker colors seemed to work better than lighter ones.

I'm a hairstylist just to let you know. if you are fair in complexion, you should stay away from dark lrowns or black. i would suggest dark blond, v light brown, if you have no red pigments in your skin id say go for even like a strawberry blond or something with a bit of red to it. the light tones of these are possible through pre-softening the hair, any stylist could take care of this in a salon for you!!

Color does not take to color. In order to get the color you want, you will have to bleach the brown out, and then put in a shade of blonde. There's no other way to do it. If you want the best hair color products, you really ought to have this procedure done at a salon, by professionals who are trained to do this and know what they're doing. then find the color blonde you want to be - your hair is now white so what ever color you choose should end up being almost exactly whats on the box -

I think strawberry blonde would be really pretty, i love that color. You could also go light brown if you want to go darker, but I wouldn't go any darker than that, something unexpected might happen since your hair is light. Good luck!

For most of my african american clients I use a demi permanent haircolor which acts like permanent haircolor except for the fact that it does not have the chemicals that cause your hair to break. Especially if you use a lot of heat on your hair (flat iron) and if you use a relaxer. One of my favorite demi permanent colors is sold at sally beauty supply called Clairol Radiance. With this product you don't have to be afraid of your hair breaking and it will give you softer, shinier hair than any permanent haircolor on the market. I know dark and lovely makes a semi permanent but the demi permanent will last longer. And I know first hand that Clairol Radiance will give you amazing results. There are Latinas with dark skin like Zoe Saldana and would probably not look good with the same hair color as Jennifer Lopez since she's olive tone even though she is Hispanic as well. I personally stick to jet black hair because I love the shade and I think it rocks and always looks classy with my complexion.
So keep in mind that it depends...you can't be too vague. I mean look at Eve..she looks awesome with blond hair, and I have seen girls with lighter skin and rocking the same hair color, yet they look like a mess. It really varies. Just keep in mind that if you decide to go two or three shades lighter---go to the salon and get it professionally done. Bleaching is dangerous. lol
